Joining the increasing ranks of many, many, many, many, many bands who reunite for a tour years after they originally broke up, Neutral Milk Hotel is finally regrouping, much to the joy of emotive twenty- and thirty-somethings throughout the world.  The band released some classic 1990s albums—On Avery Island and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea—and toured briefly before a final performance in October 1998.  Now they’re back, apparently, as the band’s website is announcing a new grouping of live dates, as well as a gibberish message.

The band—Jeff Mangum (who has performed Neutral Milk Hotel songs solo in intervening years), Jeremy Barnes, Julian Koster, and Scott Spillane—wrote today that “and of water course womb rume is a wandering the welkin woman whose fune caul is all umbilical cord code that comes equipped with read volve vît curtains that čun seel my văl én tich radio reason in remembrance of mademoiselle gabrielle and her wone tym pad lock of burd language as it borders on twin tolk the wolk king wall of woolpack pigeons pointing to the fly blind readers riddle and his rian boh,” so… um, there’s that.  Oh, and then they announced two dates in Georgia and North Carlonia, and two dates in Taiwan and Japan, with the promise that more tour dates are to come.  Check out the dates below, via The AV Club (and good luck with that message):

22-23 October 2013: Athens, GA 40 Watt Club
25 October 2013: Asheville, NC Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
28 November 2013: Taipei, Taiwan Hostess Club Festival
1 December 2013: Tokyo, Japan Hostess Club Festival
