Despite the fact that life can seemingly be an existential sprawl of pain, failure, betrayal, doubt, and misery, with only an inevitable, inescapable, and unpredictable death at its end, sometimes life still has its little bonuses. Music, for instance, or rainbows, or the concept of love and peace. Or, as in the case of this week, minor-level early 2000s pop sensation Aaron Carter getting jumped and beaten by a group of unruly New Kids on the Block fans. Yes, really.
Carter, whose older brother Nick was a member of the Backstreet Boys, was having dinner with a friend in Boston when “a huge guy” approached the pop singer and shouted that “I heard you’re doing a show here tomorrow. This is the town of the New Kids,” because apparently living in Boston is like something out of West Side Story.
And it was at this point that, according to Carter, three other men came out of a gold Chevy Malibu (this just gets better and better) and started pummeling the younger Carter.
Carter further stated that “I think my knuckles might be broken, but that’s what they get,” because if there’s anything cooler than admitting you were jumped by New Kids on the Block fans, it’s claiming to have beaten up said New Kids on the Block fans. “People think I’m a pretty little white boy, but no way,” Carter admitted. “I think I won.”
Carter also stated he would not file a police report because it would “girlie.” Go ahead and insert your own joke here.
