Fear not, Pixies fans—hot on the heels of the news that the band has already, after only a few months, ousted bassist Kim Shattuck (who herself was a replacement for original bassist Kim Deal, who joined the band in 1986 and left earlier this year), comes the news that yet another female bassist has been selected to join the seminal group on their newest tour.
The band has selected Paz Lenchatin (A Perfect Circle, Zwan, The Entrance Band). Lenchatin has been something of a journeywoman in the rock world, so jumping into one of the most beloved “alt-rock” band of misanthropes shouldn’t be too daunting. Probably.
And hey the band is launching a huge tour in 2014, in which you might be able to catch Lenchatin playing with the Pixies, unless they fire her first. Check out the dates below, via The AV Club.
