For the first time in ten years, former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri joined his old bandmates onstage during a live show. It went down on Wednesday, April 16th, when the Queens of the Stone Age were plating a show at the Keller Auditorium in Portland, Oregon.
As the band launched into “You Think I Ain’t Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire” in their encore, Oliveri hopped onstage and sang with Josh Homme onstage for the first time in a decade (though Oliveri did sing backup on the band’s latest album, 2013’s …Like Clockwork). Check it out:
Oliveri was ousted from the band in 2004 for somewhat ambiguous reasoning—rumors abound that it had to do with his drug abuse, domestic violence against his girlfriend (Oliveri was later arrested for domestic violence in 2011), or some combination of both.
It is not known if this was a one-off, or if Oliveri will ever rejoin the band. Check out the remainder of Queens of the Stone Age’s 2014 tour dates below:
