In a situation that seems as if were created for an Onion headline rather than real ones, last week, Chris Brown threatened to quit music, all because you people won’t quit bugging him about that time he brutally punched, bit, and slammed his then-girlfriend Rihanna’s face into a car door because she had the temerity to look at his cell phone. Well, add that another layer of that would-be Onion headline onto today’s news, as Chris Brown’s PR team are now blaming that public negativity for Brown’s seizures.
It turns out that last Friday at 1 am, Brown had a seizure while in the Record Plant recording studio in Los Angeles. According to The AV Club, Brown refused treatment from the arriving EMTs; further, he tweeted the self-pitying message that “they won’t love u until u r a memory,” because he’s totes sad, you guyz.
Moving on, Brown’s team then went for this play: they blamed his seizure on the “nonstop negativity” of a world that looks down upon a man for brutally beating his significant other, and because of the “intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress” his recent “onslaught of unfounded legal matters” have taken on him (i.e., he had to spend some time in jail last week because he committed a hit-and-run in May).
So, America, can we please allow Chris Brown to be an entitled celebrity with zero sense of personality responsibility or judicial penalty when he commits a crime? Otherwise, he’s gonna feel real bad about it, gurl.
